Finally got the lowering springs installed today. So far it’s lowered .75 inches so nothing huge. Should be a 1.25 inch drop or so once it settles. Cleaned it afterwards as well and it’s looking real good.

Excellent wheels, excellent interior. I do really enjoy this gen of GTi.

No nothing yet. Haven’t decided if I am gonna tune yet. At least not this soon. Planning on a turboback soon then we’ll see after.

Yeah the Austin wheels are beautiful. I’m planning on buying new wheels eventually but sometimes I ask myself should I really.

Buy new ones for summers and keep these for winters?

I would but I live in San Antonio so I don’t really get “winters” here.

It’s a shame to get a full turboback and not throw a stage 2 tune on there.

They are called ‘Monza’s’ here in the U.K. and look great.

Yeah I think I will eventually but I don’t feel I need one yet. Seen people with clutches going out soon after a stage 2 tune. Car just rolled over to 2k miles so I don’t want to be replacing a clutch on a brand new car. Mainly looking for some noise with the turbo back since the car is pretty quiet.

Oh, fair point. Yeah I don’t have anything helpful then, other than the current ones are quite lovely

Plaid seats are so kickass.

VW keeps their names the same all over the world I believe. You’re thinking of one of the types that came on the MK6 GTI. They do have a passing resemblance :)

Congrats! I have a 2016 SE of my own in the same color (LP only, no PP or DCC, etc.) that’s also a 6-speed. I’ve had it for two months and I can easily say it’s already one of my favorite cars among all that I’ve driven.

Ideally, I would love to have had an SE with the cloth seats. They offer “half leather” in other markets that would be perfect for people like me, but no option for that in the US. I plan to do a modest lowering like yours, a BMS JB1/JB4, and then miscellaneous things to fine hone the car (shifter pieces, bushings, tires, turbo muffler delete, etc.)

Here’s mine:

Nice! Funny i was just looking at the JB1 right now. Decisions decisions haha. It indeed is a very fun car to drive.

You can get the S seats in an SE if you find the right dealer and have to wait four months to get a PP car. evilgrin
